MORE INFORMATION
The issue of healthcare in the U.S. has been tackled many times over in cinema. There is inherent drama within the system which can make for fine filmmaking. “The God Committee” takes things up a notch.
The story follows a committee at a local hospital that routinely decides which patients are the best candidates for organ transplants. Many different issues arise as one can imagine when making such decisions. Bureaucracy, red tape, professional vs personal feelings, are just but a few aspects that affect their decisions.
Kelsey Grammer and Julia Stiles head up the cast and they do not disappoint. Their performances suck the audience into their respective medical worlds and they do not let up until the film is over.
“The God Committee” will have you questioning what you would do if you were in a similar situation. It will leave you with lingering thoughts long after the film is over.
Recommended.
