The new film “Here Are The Young Men” is an Irish coming of age story. Three high school students are looking at their uncertain futures after graduating from public school when a freak accident occurs. Each of them handle the incident in different ways and in doing so they have to deal with their own personal issues as they try to move on from it.

The movie has some definite positives to it. The cast is strong and the narrative is relatable in terms of that unknown feeling one gets about an uncertain future.

Some of the subplots were a little confusing and took away from the overall drama of the story.

The relationship between Matthew (Dean Charles Chapman) and Jen (Anya Taylor-Joy) is the most captivating as they struggle to communicate and understand each other.

Ultimately, “Here Are The Young Men” delivers on the overall feel of being lost and uncertain. However, the film feels like something that is somewhat of a lost opportunity.
