The new film “The Last Matinee” is a throwback horror film from Uruguay-Argentina. Even though it takes place in the 90’s, it really feels more like something from the 80’s.
The theater that it was filmed in is perfect for the occasion. A duel level large old school theater, a madman is inside stalking and killing the patrons.
It reminded me of a film you would have rented from the horror section of your favorite video store back in the day. Sometimes you found decent films that you had never heard of while other times you wished you had picked something else.
In the case of “The Last Matinee” I think you will be pleased with your selection if you like old school horror.
