FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS

Chateau Ste Michelle Winery
Every now and then the perfect mix of artists, venue, and season occurs in the greater Seattle, WA area and Sunday evening was one such event. Longtime favorites Fitz And The Tantrums returned to the Chateau Ste Michelle Winery Concert Series alongside co-headliner Andy Grammer, along with opener We Three.
The sold out event had the capacity crowd arriving early to claim their picnic spots on the lawn with the reserved seated area bringing up the rear in terms of arrivals. An 80 degree day just set the mood as wine bottles were purchased, food was eaten, and a hungry appetite for feel good music awaited.
Fitz And The Tantrums are no strangers to the Seattle area nor the road in general. They have made their reputation on their live performances, my earliest gig being 2011. They blew me away then and Sunday night they had me grinning from ear to ear all over again.
Michael “Fitz” Fitzpatrick (vocals), Noelle Scaggs (vocals), James King (saxophone, flute), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards), Joseph Karnes (bass), and John Wicks (drums, percussion) took the stage as night had settled in and started things off with “OCD” quickly followed up with “Complicated”.
The band was in fine form as they then launched into “Out Of My League”. The crowd was up, dancing, singing, and clapping along all through their set.
The first single from the forthcoming new album “Sway” went over well as did “Moneymaker”. I was happy to hear “6am” in the set.
“Moneygrabber” kicked things into overdrive as they eventually encored with the trifecta of “Handclap”, “All The Feels”, and of course, “The Walker”.
The sold out crowd loved the set and wanted more but it was not to be (strict curfews at this outdoor venue). As they always say, leave them wanting more, and Fitz And The Tantrums always do just that. They are a band that must be experienced live to fully understand what they’re all about.
Always recommended when they hit your town!
Best,

It must be mentioned that Andy Grammer put on one heck of a set and We Three got the energy up as well. A terrific touring bill for those looking for a great time!
