Being media I get alerted to quite a few shows that are coming to town by artists I’m unfamiliar with. Every now and then an artist will stand out to me so I’ll look into them and then make a decision about possibly covering their show(s).

Bedouin Burger is one such artist.

Based in France but with roots in Lebanon and Syria, Zeid Hamdan and Lynn Adib make up the duo known as Bedouin Burger. Their form of Arabic music mixed with electronica, singer/songwriter, and other influences makes for a unique sound which intrigued me upon the first listen.

The band were playing a select round of US shows, one of which was in Seattle at the High Dive on Wednesday evening.

Some bands you need to experience in concert. Watching them on YouTube or any other platform will never do them justice. Bedouin Burger is one of these bands. In the live environment, they create a mood that is both positive and deeply emotional.

The audience at the High Dive were either dancing, smiling, or lost in a trance-like state all through the band's ninety minute set. Describing the band's music in words will never be enough to capture what the band are about. There is just such a wide mix of sounds emanating from the stage that they really are a band to see live to truly understand what they bring to the musical table.

Lynn has a beautiful voice, haunting at times. She is also a multi instrumentalist as is her musical partner Zeid. Together they are really on to something new and exciting.  I was so glad that I caught their show in Seattle.  I enjoyed it so much that I was contemplating how to get out of my committments for the very next night in Edmonds where they performed.  Yes, they were that good (and unfortunately I couldn't make things work for the Edmonds show)!

Highly recommended!
