The Seattle Symphony was back with the first part in the dramatic climax of the beloved Harry Potter films, “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1”. Conducted by Julian Pellicano, Benaroya Hall was filled with members of the four houses with banners to match in the lobby area (a nice touch, indeed).

There were loads of robes and other Harry Potter related outfits that just added to the excitement of the evening.

Having been to a handful of these events, for the uninitiated, when the Seattle Symphony presents one of these shows, the film is shown in its entirety (usually with one intermission) while the entire orchestral score is performed live by the Seattle Symphony.

It is quite the treat to see and hear a film in this manner. If you are a fan of any of the films they schedule, you will have an amazing time. If you’ve never seen a film, you’ll most likely enjoy yourself (provided you end up liking the film). If you hate a film, this format, honestly, won’t change your mind. But outside of that, I always recommend these performances to patrons.

Maestro Pellicano had the Seattle Symphony sounding exquisite on Saturday night. They’ve been amazing before but they were really on another level at this performance. The sounds emanating from the stage were brilliant and really showcased the original score.

The film itself is originally from 2010 and I honestly haven’t seen it since then. So, for me, it was much like seeing a brand new film all over again. And to that point, I enjoyed the film but being part one we all know that part two is where the real emotional meat on the bone will be as its the finale.

Speaking of which, the conclusion to the Harry Potter films, “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2” performed live by the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall is already scheduled for October 31st through November 2nd. Ticket information is available:  HERE!

Can't wait until then?  Buy tickets for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens LIVE at Benaroya Hall on July 12, 13, and 14th.  Purchase tickets:  HERE!

Don’t miss out on seeing these films in this incredible format. Always recommended!
