March 14, 2023
A co-headlining metal mayhem bill came to Seattle on March 14th. Cradle of Filth and Devildriver, supported by Black Satellite and Oni.
Cradle has developed over the years into a formidable live act. Years of touring has paid off as they always deliver the goods. The same lineup that came in 2022 took the stage on Tuesday evening.
Playing a “greatest hits” set due to the limited time (with one new song "She Is A Fire"), there were no complaints from the majority of the fans in attendance. “Heaven Torn Asunder” started the set and “From The Cradle To Enslave” finished it in one hour. Straight, to the point, and awesome!
Devildriver is one of those bands I’ve always known about but was not familiar with musically. Dez and the boys really kicked Seattle in the teeth and it was glorious! A new fan was made that night for sure.
Black Satellite took the stage and had an interesting mix of heavy and melody. I liked it.
Oni I had seen back in 2016 and they got things started right. I’m glad to see they’re still bringing the metal through the pandemic.
Best,
Mark Sugiyama
