Lucia and Leo brought their massive collective of talent to Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley in Seattle, WA for two days and three performances total.
Lucia Micarelli and Leo Amuedo are world class musicians and together they showcased their talents individually and most definitely collectively.
The setlist had no boundaries which I happened to love. From classical to Joni Mitchell to originals, and other stops in between, the songs flowed effortlessly from the stage. Being a guitarist, I couldn’t help but be impressed with Leo’s right hand work. I have yet to master any sort of fingerstyle guitar so watching a master at work like Leo was a special treat for me.
Lucia was as exceptional as I remember. Having first seen/heard her with the Trans Siberian Orchestra back in 2003 (!) and having covered her most recently in 2018, her violin playing is uniquely her own. When a musician has their own sound, that’s top level playing. And Lucia has been playing with the best for years.
Let’s not forget her vocal prowess as well. With a sultry voice, almost torch song in places, Lucia sang from the heart and captivated the audience.
The mix of Lucia and Leo’s talents worked wonders and one can only hope this dynamic duo will continue to work and hopefully record together in the future.
An absolutely beautiful experience on Valentine’s Day 2023.
