Greetings,
The last show of the 2018-2019 Broadway at The Paramount season opened last night. “Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory” drew in an audience of both young and the young at heart.

The beloved book and film(s) had many in attendance curious as to how they would transform the material for the musical theatre stage. Let’s just say that pure imagination was in abundance at the Paramount Theatre last night.
Noah Weisberg as Willy Wonka was the ringleader throughout the performance. He kicked his character acting into high gear in Act II which thrilled and delighted the audience. His comedic timing and physical storytelling were a marvel to witness.

The stellar cast truly captivated the audience as the familiar story unfolded. The visuals were state of the art. The second act seemed so very movie like that the audience was trapped in the factory and all of Willy Wonka’s candy madness.
The oompa loompa entrance stole the show. It was clear that many were waiting for their introduction to the story and when they came out, the applause was deafening. How did they pull off the beloved characters? You’ll have to go see a performance.

The show was designed for families and many were in attendance last night. There was a bit of course language but that was very minor. The spectacle of it all really worked for everyone in attendance.
“Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory” was thoroughly entertaining. The show is recommended for all ages. Just by attending a performance you’ll already have won a golden ticket. Feed your imagination!
