OPENING IN THEATERS IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA MAY 16, 2025
The new film “The Old Woman With The Knife” is a South Korean action film based on the novel with the same name.
As normal, I don’t go over plot points in my reviews as I prefer for the reader to go into the film as fresh as possible.
The film has some tremendous action sequences. They are truly the selling point of the movie. The story is solid but I wish it had been condensed down (a common quibble from me with most modern movies - they are too long much of the time). The impact of the action scenes would have been greater if the story had been trimmed down by fifteen minutes or so, give or take.
The performances from the cast are strong across the board and that definitely helps keep the interest level as high as possible.
The film opens today in select theaters. This would look amazing on the big screen. For that fact alone, I recommend seeking it out in your local city and theater.
