The new film “Bob Trevino Likes It” caught me off guard in the best possible way. A day to day drama featuring Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria), John Leguizamo (Moulin Rouge!) & French Stewart (3rd Rock from the Sun), the film is a stunning entry in the 2025 canon of films.
As always, I like the reader/viewer to go into the film as fresh as possible so I stay away from plot points whenever I can. What I can say is that the film has universal themes that anyone could relate to.
The performances from Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo are extraordinary. Their chemistry is undeniable as the film builds up to their first in-person meeting (their characters meet online initially).
There are laughs but the story is definitely one of a touching nature and one that makes you think about your own relationships, your definition of family, and what may be missing in your life.
“Bob Trevino Likes It” is going to be one of my top ten films of 2025. That may be a bold statement considering it’s not even June yet but the film is that good. Do yourself a favor and seek it out.
