The new film, “The Cure For Hate: Bearing Witness to Auschwitz” is a fascinating documentary that follows a former Neo-Nazi and Holocaust denier Tony McAleer as he travels to Auschwitz to unpack all that he once denied.

Tony started the anti-hate activist group, Life After Hate, which seeks to educate those that are willing to be educated about all of the hate in the world.

The premise of the film is what makes it work. For someone to do a 180 from being a hate filled threat to society to someone that is doing everything he can to atone for his past mistakes, I think almost anyone can find something relatable in that journey.

The film definitely speaks to issues that are global, in the present day, and that aspect is scary but much needed. When we hear about an incident on the news involving hate crimes, of any kind, these are not one off occurrences nor should they be downplayed.

History has shown us what can happen when a perfect storm of hatred arrives and we, as a species, have to be on alert to never, ever, let that happen again.

Recommended.
