The new film “Warhunt” is an action thriller war film that ventures into the supernatural. Based in 1945, a platoon is sent to retrieve top secret material from a plane that crashed. Along the way many things happen that are both supernatural and horrific.
“Warhunt” has the premise but the execution was lacking. It started to venture into straight-to-video territory which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But, it could have been better for sure.
Mickey Rourke has a small part in the film and his character is rather odd looking. Whether this was done on purpose as tongue in cheek fun I don’t know. But, it came off as a payday appearance.
Overall, “Warhunt” may work on a night when you’re looking for some entertainment that you don’t need to think about. These days in 2022 that kind of film can be much needed.
