The new production of “The Savannah Sipping Society” opens officially on May 3rd at the Edmonds Driftwood Players. I attended the final dress rehearsal on Thursday evening.

Let me say right off the bat that the play is wonderful! It is chock full of comedic moments all throughout from beginning to end. There are also emotional moments that explain each of the four main characters and what brought them to Savannah.

The performances by Rita Baxter, Melody Mistlin, Dawn Cornell, and Kirsten McCory could not have been better. Each actor brought a unique yet endearing quality to each of their respective characters that was undeniable. Their collective and individual comedic timing was also spot on throughout the show.

I believe anyone that goes to a performance will find something identifiable with one of the characters and.or their background story. It was ironic that one of the characters had lost her job - something I could relate to as I had just experienced the same issue that very morning with my former “day job”. It must have been the universe's way of letting me know this happens to everyone and it’s going to be okay.

“The Savannah Sipping Society” is another top notch production from the Edmonds Driftwood Players. A few performances are already sold out so don’t wait on getting tickets before it's too late.

“The Savannah Sipping Society” runs through May 19th. Tickets are available:  HERE!
