The new film, “They Crawl Beneath” looked like a fun popcorn movie with practical effects and a fun tone to it. In some aspects it delivered that while in others it came up short.
Whenever the acting is a distraction from the overall film, that’s rarely a good thing. I don’t like taking any creative to task as I consider myself a creative as well. However, some of the acting in this film was absolutely a distraction and it made it hard for me to enjoy the story.
The creatures were fun and loosely reminded me of something you would have seen in other films. It must be noted that it was great seeing Michael Pare again. He was one of the highlights of the film.
Overall, “They Crawl Beneath” had promise but it could have been so much more.
Best,
