The new film, “Monsters Within” is a drama that is clearly near and dear to the creators heart. Devin Montgomers wrote, directed, produced and starred in the film.
While the film is compelling at times, the personal journey of the character(s) will either resonate with viewers or not. Sometimes stories that are so close to the creator end up getting a bit of a vacuum effect where the film doesn’t quite hit the mark to the mainstream audience.
I thought some of the performances were rock solid but there were a few minor characters that were distracting due to the level of their acting skills.
Overall, “Monsters Within” is a solid film.
