The new film, “Good Boy” is a thriller/horror film with a unique concept. The film is told from the point of view of the dog. Every human for the most part is either not completely seen or their face is somewhat obscured.
For the animal lover, the dog (played by Indy) will ultimately be the draw. Whether his character survives in the film will also be a cautious draw to the film. No spoilers here.
The film was shot well and so it looked much more professional compared to its budget. The story for the most part also worked well. But, for me, the horror aspect of it was not up to par. It needed more time (or perhaps budget) to really make the film work. It felt like a short film that was given the green light to make a feature length movie.
So, there’s more pros than cons with “Good Boy” but the trailer that went viral didn’t quite deliver the film that was promoted.
But, it’s still a film worth seeking out.
