TAPROOT THEATRE "Happy Christmas, Jeeves" - November 27 - December 31, 2024
HAPPY CHRISTMAS, JEEVES
By: Heidi McElrath and Nathan Kessler-Jeffrey
Directed by: Karen Lund
Taproot Theatre Company
Seattle, WA
Review: Saturday 11/30/24 - 7:30pm Performance
The latest holiday production at the Taproot Theatre in Greenwood is a world premiere production of “Happy Christmas, Jeeves” based on the stories of PG Woodhouse.
With nearly an entire cast that has graced the stage at Taproot Theatre in other productions over the years, I was excited for the show based on this fact alone.
Boy, did the show deliver!
Calder Jameson Shiling as Bertie Wooster and Richard Nguyen Sloniker as Reginald Jeeves (reprising their roles from the 2023 Taproot Theatre production) were absolutely marvelous in their respective roles.
Calder shines throughout the production as Bertie Wooster. His facial expressions, dialogue delivery, and acting were just a joy to behold. He absolutely carries the show and it keeps it zany but with heart.
Not to be outdone, Richard delivers his lines as Jeeves as the perfect foil to Calder’s Bertie. The butler who always knows best and saves the day multiple times, Richard is so spot on with his embodiment of the character, it’s a real treat watching these two actors own the stage.
Of course the rest of the cast are no slouches, either. They add depth to the story and the characters really enhance every scene that they are in.
This world premiere show is funny (like laugh out loud), intriguing, and definitely heartwarming (the finale in particular).
“Happy Christmas, Jeeves” is another hit for Taproot Theatre. Do not sleep on this show folks!
Highly recommended!
”Happy Christmas, Jeeves” is playing through December 31st. Tickets are available: HERE!
