Broadway At The Paramount - BLUE MAN GROUP - May 29 - May 31, 2026 Opening Night Review

BLUE MAN GROUP - Bluevolution World Tour 2026

Premera Blue Cross Broadway At The Paramount
Seattle, WA

Review: Friday May 29, 2026

I’ve been asked many times to describe Blue Man Group to those that have never experienced one of their shows. I’ve seen the production in Las Vegas more than once, dating back to the1990’s. I’ve seen the touring version of the theatre show. I’ve seen “The Complex” which was their version of a rock show more than once as well, both the 1.0 and 2.0 versions. I have an original “spin art” from the Las Vegas show I attended in my home, too. But, even with all that experience, it’s damn near impossible to describe what a new patron will see and hear at one of their shows.

Last night in Seattle, they opened a four performance run at the Paramount Theatre. The last time they were in town was Thanksgiving weekend in 2022. I was fortunate enough to review that tour. Prior to that show, it may have been around 2016 which was the last time I saw one of their performances.

I have to divide this up into new and old or never seen them and veteran attendees. For the new patron, provided you consider yourself a creative type, I still believe that Blue Man Group offers something for you. For those that are more numbers/math minded people, it may be more of an acquired taste. The humor works for some while it falls flat for others.

This version of the theatre show over the years has become very family friendly. It always has been in my opinion but I don’t think families picked up on them until they started making commercials and appeared in mainstream media several years ago.

For those “repeat offenders” like myself, the show is always entertaining but it may depend on just how many times you’ve seen them and what was the most recent performance. This show was similar to the one from 2022 but it definitely had some changes.

There are of course the three blue men (left, center, and right). There is also “the rockstar” on stage. Outside of that, there were no other visible musicians. While “the rockstar” was played by musician and composer Ursula Sargent, a Seattle native, the lack of other musicians on stage was disappointing.

Many of the skits from the early years were in the set. I won’t ruin them for you newbies out there but for the veterans, this is either a good or a bad thing, depending on what you hoped to see and hear.

Blue Man Group remains one of those shows that have to be experienced. Watching clips online and reading descriptions really doesn’t do the show justice. Once you’ve seen them, then you’ll know which camp you belong to - “the one and dones” or “the repeat offenders”.

Let me know your thoughts after you check out a performance.

“Blue Man Group - On Tour” runs through Sunday May 31st. Tickets are available:  HERE!
