SECONDSTORY REP "Ruthless! The Musical" February 27th through March 15th, 2026 Review
RUTHLESS! The Musical
Book and Lyrics by Joel Paley
Music by Marvin Laird
Directed by Harry Turpin
Music Direction by Olivia Pedroza
SecondStory Rep
Redmond, WA
March 5, 2026 8pm performance
The latest production at the SecondStory Rep in Redmond, WA is the dark humor musical Ruthless! The Musical. A high camp romp that pokes fun at many musical theatre tropes, the show is most definitely a wild and zany time.
With the story focused on young Tina Denmark (played by Allie Nolan) and her mother Judy Denmark (played by Emily Courcy), the show also features the characters of Sylvia St. Croix (played by Brad Cerenzia), Miss Thorn (played by Olivia Lee), Lita Encore (played by Kristie “Kiki” Werner), Louise Lerman and Eve (played by Marnie Wingett), and Frederick Denmark (played by Mark Chenovick).
Each actor was strong in their own unique ways. They had an opportunity to show their vocal talents, in some cases dance talents, and of course their acting talents. There truly was no weak link in this cast.
Emily Courcy was just fantastic in the role of Judy Denmark. Without giving anything away, she had to stretch her character in many different ways which could have ended horribly for a campy musical theatre show. But, in her capable hands, the character was a highlight of the entire show.
Allie Nolan as Tina Denmark will of course get much of the attention based on her character’s storyline throughout the show. Allie not only held her own with the other actors on stage, at times she surpassed them. What a stunning young talent!
As I mentioned earlier, all of the cast had their moments in the spotlight and each of them rose to the occasion.
Ruthless! The Musical was a fun, campy, ride that had the audience laughing from beginning to end. If camp is your thing, you must go see this show!
Recommended!
Ruthless! The Musical runs through March 15th. Tickets are available: HERE!
