LINDSEY STIRLING - NIGHT WITH THE SEATTLE SYMPHONY July 19, 2025 Review

LINDSEY STIRLING
Night With The Seattle Symphony

Seattle Symphony - Conducted by Wesley Schulz
Benaroya Hall
Seattle, WA

July 19, 2025 8pm Performance

(Seattle Symphony)

Every now and then an event comes together that is a perfect marriage of two artistic groups. Violin sensation Lindsey Stirling and the Seattle Symphony was one such event. Performed at the always wonderful Benaroya Hall, this was one concert that had all the makings of an epic experience. And, indeed, it was.

Only one of eight “night with the symphony” performances that Lindsey Stirling was doing this summer, her fanbase was there in force. From the multiple VIP buyers to the casual fan, the lobby of Benaroya Hall was packed before the show began.

Divided into two acts/sets, Lindsey performed many of her well known songs as well as a few selections that hadn’t been aired in years. She performed her violin parts with her trademark dancing all throughout the show.

Her stories and dialogue in between numbers was transparent and refreshing. She was very much an open book detailing her struggles and the work she continually puts into herself and her craft.

In total she performed for about 90 minutes. I do wish she would have come back out for an encore number and not just a curtain call wave to the audience. Something that wasn’t listed on the program sheet would have been a nice surprise (and well deserving by the way).

I do know Lindsey has asked her fans what they’ve thought of these shows since this is the first time she’s done something like this. After attending Saturday’s show, I would only say that for a “regular” Lindsey Stirling show, everyone expects her to be a 50/50 mix of music and dance. That’s what she’s known for.

For future symphony shows, I would scale that ratio down to maybe 70/30. It may be impossible as some performers are just that locked into their movements on stage. But, I think if she dialed the dancing back a notch or two, the music would shine that much more in this sort of setting.

Overall, Lindsey Stirling was a top notch performer and with the always reliable Seattle Symphony, she proved that she not only belongs on the Benaroya Hall stage, she deserves to be there.

Thank you Lindsey Stirling and the Seattle Symphony for a tremendous night of music.

Best,
Mark Sugiyama
