A CHRISTMAS CAROL ACT Contemporary Theatre November 24 - December 24, 2023 Review
A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Written by Charles Dickens
Adapted by Gregory Falls
Music by Adam Stern
Directed by R. Hamilton Wright
ACT Contemporary Theatre
Seattle, WA
December 3, 2022 Matinee Performance
“A Christmas Carol” has been performed at the ACT for many, many years and for good reason - it’s quality entertainment,
This is only my second year of attending the show but it was just as satisfying as last year’s performance.
I liked the subtle differences in this year's interpretation (such as the lines matching the casting actors' appearance for example). The high quality of performance was on display throughout the show and for ninety minutes Seattle disappeared and the world of Scrooge engulfed the patrons Sunday afternoon.
Like last year, the special effects for the spirits really worked well. It is very much the book or one of the many film adaptations that come to life in front of your very eyes. It is spooky, jovial, and heartfelt.
The cast was superb and there really wasn’t one thing that I found lacking. Impressive stuff, really.
“A Christmas Carol” is the perfect holiday treat for anyone looking to welcome in the 2023 holiday season.
Recommended!
