QUEENSRYCHE
Snoqualmie Casino
Seattle, WA
7/21/2023
The Queensryche machine rolled back into town at Snoqualmie Casino last Friday evening. A “local” gig since the band's roots are here in WA state (even though the band lives in a variety of cities and states), this was a homecoming show for the band and the fans.
They last played here in Seattle proper in March of this year on the DNA tour. It’s commonplace these days to see many of the same faces at the shows regardless of where Queensryche plays in WA state.
The band played a healthy helping of tunes from their latest recording “Digital Noise Alliance” - an album that really showcases the diversity of the band and that they are arguably putting out some of their best material now in 2022/2023.
A few other Todd La Torre (vocals) era tunes were mixed into the set and of course the legacy tunes. The setlist was a mix of the March setlist with a few tunes swapped out in favor of a few more well known songs. Either way, both 2023 sets featured more of Todd than in previous shows/tours and that’s always a plus in my book.
The band is at a point where, at least locally, they can pull out all the stops in regards to the setlist. They could do an EP/Warning only setlist (like what’s coming up in 2024 at a metal festival in Houston), a 50/50 legacy/Todd era setlist. Or an all deep cuts setlist. The crowd here, many whom have seen the band multiple times like I have, would welcome any of the above.
A fantastic night of metal. Long live the ‘Ryche!
Best,
