The new film, “The Harbinger” is a horror film recently released by XYZ Films last week. For the gorehounds out there, this isn't that type of film. It is much more of a cerebral thriller that gets under your skin and into your nightmares kind of film.

As always, no spoilers or plot points in this review. Instead I’ll say that the film does arguably the best job I’ve seen of movies that tackle the pandemic and how it affected everyone. This is probably the strongest aspect of the film. It forces the viewer to go back to 2020 and remember just how chaotic everything was at that time.

I can also say that the film has a creepy atmosphere throughout the film. It’s unnerving at times just like a horror film should be. If you like your horror straight and to the point, you won’t find that here.

Strong performances from the cast and creator Andy Mitton wrote and directed the film. Mr. Mitton definitely had a vision for the final product as the film is directed with a steady, composed, hand.

Overall, “The Harbinger” was an entertaining horror film worth checking out.
