It's that time of year as we all know. Every theatre is putting on a holiday production or their version of a holiday show to celebrate in December.

If you love the animated show (the first for Charles M. Schulz and company - check out the documentary on the DVD/Blu-Ray release - it's fascinating) - you'll absolutely love this production as well!

The show is geared for all ages of course - running just around 45 minutes or so. It’s the perfect length for those little holiday creatures that can’t sit still for too long.

For the purist out there, the extra minutes in the run time are added to the actual performance of the holiday show Charlie Brown and company were working on in the story.

The show is fairly close to the cartoon - with even some of the dialogue being word for word which I loved. The creative ways to bring the animated special to life were a joy to watch.

The whole cast worked incredibly well together. Each character was easy to make out from the audience perspective. From Linus to Lucy, Pig Pen to Frieda; they’re all there.  A special nod to Schroeder (played by Zachary Kellogg).  His musicality was a definite head turner for me.  Having seen the show before, the music this year (no offense to the other musicians) was top notch.

The audience, from children to seniors and everyone in-between, laughed and had a great time. It helped get me in the holiday spirit and I believe it will for you, too.

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" at Taproot Theatre is another exceptional production. Don’t wait on getting tickets as some performances are already sold out.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” runs through December 27th. Purchase tickets:  HERE!
