The new film “Heather” was a pleasant surprise for me. I viewed it during October which turned out to be the perfect month to do so.
A tense thriller with horror elements, “Heather” really had a visceral tone to it that I liked. The film is basically shot in one house as a premise so that claustrophobic feeling kicks in early on. When films have tense scenes between two characters, the dialogue and the performances have to be on point. And in the case of, “Heather”, both were accomplished.
Pooya Mohseni was damn near perfect in this role. Her performance was not only believable but so incredibly nuanced that she elevated every scene she was in (which was many). Nick Matthews also did an outstanding job in his role and between the two actors, the movie came alive.
“Heather” comes recommended. Seek it out on November 8th on digital platforms!
